Does A Child Have To Pay Income Tax?

Back to menu

Any person in the UK that is earning money will have to declare those earnings to the Tax Office. A child, however, can earn up to the current single personal tax allowance per year before needing to make such a declaration.

If you find that your child’s earnings are nearing this figure you should contact your local Tax Office for advice.

Your agency may very well be able to offer advice on taxation matters, but should not be relied upon for information, or to organise any returns for you.
